The ABDN differs from many trade directories, in that the ABDN management team has a detailed knowledge of the capability of each member in the network. With our highly proactive and pragmatic approach we work alongside the buyer to precisely understand the requirement, select the right supplier(s) and add engineering expertise and any third party support that may be required to achieve the optimum solution.

Engineering Solutions

The ABDN is able to provide both collaborative and individual solutions through our members. Services include Steel Profiling, Assembly, PU Moulding, Plastic Moulding, CNC Machining, Lumsden Grinding, Powder Coating, Presswork and Deburring.

Engineering Expertise

Drawing heavily on our wealth of expertise, commitment and capacity and relationships generated over many years, once work has been secured, the ABDN support group and third parties provide the most appropriate and optimum solutions.

Improved and Effective Sourcing

At its simplest level it will signpost a customer to the most appropriate manufacturer. In other cases, it will help to co-ordinate the manufacture of a product, to provide all necessary levels of manufacturing support. The network reflects the growing need for Buyers to source even lower cost, high quality products delivered on time.

• In most cases, once selected, the ongoing contact will be direct with the supplier(s).
• If the right supplier isn’t yet in the network, we will find one and work with them.
• We have a wide knowledge of third parties providing additional support, often at little or no additional cost. e. g. research and development bodies and universities.
• We work with suppliers to improve specific aspects of their business, if required.
• The ABDN management team has the support and total commitment of the supply group, who make an annual subscription to join the group.
• Many of the ABDN suppliers, supported by the ABDN management team, meet on a regular basis to discuss how best to improve their service to buyers.
• All suppliers are Quality approved to ISO9001 or TS16949 and all are committed to Continuous Improvement, Total Cost Management and Operational Excellence.
