Lumsden Grinding, Deburring and Degreasing

ABDN members are able to offer Lumsden Grinding, Deburring and Degreasing facilities.

Deburring

Deburring can remove sharp edges and burrs prior to plating, painting and powder coating and can help to improve the appearance or finish of a component. ABDN members can deburr materials such as ferrous and non ferrous metals, and plastic. Typical components include pressings, machined components, fabrications and forgings. Deburring component sizes range from 2mm up to 700mm with batch sizes from one offs to thousands.

Lumsden Grinding

The ABDN members have access to one of the largest rotary  Lumsden Grinders in the UK, capable of grinding up to 126 inches in diameter. Our members can provide both reciprocating or rotary grinding to the following capacities.

• Lumsden Grinding (Rotary) up to and including 120" (3048mm) Table 126" (3200mm) with overhang. Also 100" (2540mm) - 72" (1823mm) - 3x 60" (1524mm) - 2x 36" (915mm) Tables

• Lumsden Grinding (Reciprocating) machines up to and including 192" (4877mm) x 26.25" (667mm) with overhang

Degreasing

The ABDN can offer buyers a full degreasing service using Vapour Degreasing in hermetically sealsed SED complient machines. Componant capabilityies range from 1mm to 1350mm and from small batch sizes to many thousdands. The use of vapour degreasing provide significant benefits incuding the wide range of oils and geeases which can be removed through this process, no watermarks or discoulourations, no subsequent washing or drying and due to the reduced energy consuption vapour degreasing can provide a smaller carbon footrpint compared to similar acqeous degreasing processes.
