Ltd

Cousins and Whitehouse Ltd was set up in a workshop in Finch Road, Handsworth in 1967 to supply pressings for metal pallets.  It was founded after David Whitehouse left the family firm of E. H. Whitehouse Ltd. with George Cousins and Ian Frith.  Cousins and Whitehouse Ltd specialised in making parts for Materials Handling, including pallet fittings.  Now, perhaps, the largest specialist supplier of these components.   The factory has expanded over the years to it’s current size of 30,000 square feet, and the original workshop is now a small part of the whole factory.   Acquisition has played a major role in the Company’s expansion.  In 1984 Cousins & Whitehouse took over the wire forming firm of Linclocke & Tool Co. Ltd. in Pope Street, Birmingham.  Both companies continued to operate from their respective sites, but in 1990 it was decided to combine the strengths of both managements and move Linclocke & Tool Co. Ltd. to Cousins and Whitehouse Ltd 's premises in Finch Road.  Cousins and Whitehouse Ltd Acquired  the wire forming division of  Purdie Elcock in August 2000. This has enhanced Cousins and Whitehouse Ltd’s position in the wire forming industry.   In November 2002 a major Tier One Automotive supplier awarded Cousins and Whitehouse Ltd with a £500,000 contract for the supply of pressings.

Cousins and Whitehouse Ltd supplies many industries with metal pressings and wire forms. Subcontract presswork now forms the largest portion of the sales and wire forming is growing in its’ importance.  Pallet furniture remains an important part of the company's strategy.

Many of the pressings and wire forms the company manufactures are supplied to major Tier One suppliers to the Automotive Industry.  Many of Cousins and Whitehouse Ltd's components are found in Honda, Jaguar, Nissan, Peugeot.
